She was wearing a white dress. She appeared like an angel. Out of this filthy mess, she is alone. They … cannot … touch …. her …..”

No … the dialogue of the movie attached to this post is not the movie above. Many have captured the dialogue of Master Scorsese’s eternal masterpiece taxi driver. The captivating Sebil Shepherd, who plays Betsy in Travis Bickle’s voice-over, should not be easily overlooked in such a captivating way. However, the character Jesse of Sebel seen in the movie in question looks like a fairy but the activity is not the same. Because here Jesse is involved in unpleasant things like reading from one arm to another. Noticing his mother’s pale life, he does so in vain in an effort to find happiness.Summary of the anecdote of the movie

The early 1950s, when the Korean War began. At the time, Sonny and his friend Dwayne were living in a small town in Texas. Movie review,

In the hearts of people of all ages, old or very old memories are well awakened. Even in this busy age, the mind soon goes back to the past as soon as it sees the village house or any previous friend. In fact, the things of the past are deeply rooted in the heart. Maybe that’s why Peter repeatedly takes us back to the lost days through his movies. His film, The Last Picture Show, revolves around an abandoned city, depicting the shattered hopes of adults and the unspoken expectations of young people. Among the confused novices there, they choose all the paths of evil to arouse despair and curiosity. Growing up with a lack of appropriate role models and goals seems to be a sign of depression and emotional turmoil for them. On top of that, even though they seem to be committed to the provisions that are beneficial for the society, behind the scenes, people of mature age also lean towards dishonesty. In the movie, the fate of these people, big and small, has been skillfully intertwined, whose condition is similar to that of the city, miserable. All of them are in dire straits as they feel imprisoned. Since true affection is non-existent, Ravikar cannot make their living space radiant. That is why in a backward society they seek relief from the bondage of remorse. Peter also used black-and-white cinematography in the era of color films to highlight the sadness of the city in the middle of the background. Carefully reconstructing the social conditions of the fifties, he also developed a narrative style similar to the films of that time. Little by little, the inner pain is fading the human face like a slow poison – he captures the uncomfortable life on the screen with elegance. Through the lockdown of the movie theater, he reveals the decline of a city that is inevitably depopulated. Under the pretext of showing the cinema hall, he did not forget to pay homage to some classic films.

The movie, which explores various relationships with heartwarming scenes, is an extinguished hope and a broken Maya. The painful journey of transforming an old city into a slippery desert. All in all, The Last Picture Show is arguably one of the best works of the 80’s and its creators.
